03:55 PM EDT, 10/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were mixed late Friday afternoon, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) gaining 0.3% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) falling 1.1%.
The Philadelphia Semiconductor index eased 0.1%.
In corporate news, Formula One Group ( FWONB ), a subsidiary of Liberty Media (FWONA, FWONK, LLYVA, LLVYK), signed a five-year deal with Apple ( AAPL ) to be the exclusive US broadcaster of Formula 1 races. Apple ( AAPL ) shares rose nearly 2%.
Oracle (ORCL) shares fell 7%. The company said Thursday it expected $225 billion in revenue by fiscal 2030.
Meta (META) said Friday that it is providing "simple, new ways" for parents to control how much interaction their children have with AI characters. Meta shares were up 0.9%.
Sify Technologies' ( SIFY ) Sify Infinit Spaces unit said Friday it filed a draft red herring prospectus with India's share market regulator and the national stock exchange for a 37 billion Indian Rupees ($420.5 million) initial public offering. Sify Technologies ( SIFY ) shares jumped about 13%.
