The Philadelphia Semiconductor index added 1.3%.
In corporate news, Microsoft ( MSFT )-backed (MSFT) OpenAI is close to raising $10 billion from venture investors, including MGX, Coatue Management, and Thrive Capital, in a funding round at a $730 billion valuation, Bloomberg reported. Microsoft ( MSFT ) was down 2.5%.
Apple ( AAPL ) is testing a new "Ask Siri" feature and a standalone app for the voice assistant for the iOS 27 and macOS27 operating systems, Bloomberg reported. Apple ( AAPL ) shares were little changed.
