02:00 PM EDT, 10/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were mixed Monday afternoon, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) up 0.2% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) falling 1%.
The Philadelphia Semiconductor index was decreasing 0.4%.
In corporate news, SecureWorks ( SCWX ) agreed to be bought by Thoma Bravo-backed Sophos for $859 million in a cash deal. Dell (DELL) owns all of Secureworks' ( SCWX ) class B common stock. SecureWorks ( SCWX ) shares were shedding 1.3%, and Dell was down 0.6%.
Cibus ( CBUS ) said Monday that it will implement restructuring and cost-cutting initiatives, including layoffs, that will yield about $10 million in cost savings on an annualized run-rate basis. Its shares jumped 3.2%.
Mynd.ai ( MYND ) shares were up 1.5% after the company said Monday its board has approved the repurchase of up to $10 million of its American depositary shares or ordinary shares.
