Sector Update: Tech Stocks Mixed Premarket Tuesday

09:14 AM EDT, 09/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Technology stocks were mixed premarket Tuesday, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) down 0.02% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF ( XSD ) 0.3% higher.

STMicroelectronics ( STM ) stock was up more than 2% after the company said it will lead the STARLight project, a consortium of top industrial and academic partners aimed at strengthening Europe's position in 300mm silicon photonics.

Kingsoft Cloud ( KC ) shares were down nearly 5% after the company said it intends to offer 338 million of its ordinary shares in offshore transactions outside the US.

WeRide ( WRD ) shares were up nearly 2% after the company said it is now part of the Nasdaq Golden Dragon China Index, a key benchmark for US-listed Chinese companies.
