02:00 PM EDT, 10/03/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were mixed in Thursday afternoon trading, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) up 0.2% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) shedding 0.8%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor index rose 0.3%.

In corporate news, Revolut said it has asked Meta Platforms ( META ) to pledge to cover the losses of fraud victims, arguing that its collaboration with UK banks and financial bodies on sharing data doesn't adequately address the need to fight fraud globally. Meta shares were rising 1.3%.

The US Department of Justice has expanded its investigation into potential price-fixing involving SAP (SAP) and software reseller Carahsoft Technology, Bloomberg reported. SAP shares fell 1.5%.

Microsoft ( MSFT ) invested an additional $750 million in OpenAI's $6.6 billion new funding round, Bloomberg reported. Microsoft ( MSFT ) shares eased 0.2%.
