The Philadelphia Semiconductor index declined 2.4%.
In corporate news, C3.ai ( AI ) shares dropped 4.5% after Reuters reported the company is mulling a sale after Thomas Siebel stepped down as CEO over health concerns.
Nvidia ( NVDA ) shares fell 2.9% after SoftBank said it has sold its entire stake in the chipmaker for $5.83 billion.
CoreWeave ( CRWV ) shares tumbled past 15% after the company lowered its full-year revenue outlook due to a delay at one of its third-party data center providers, even though it recorded better-than-expected Q3 results.
Alphabet's (GOOG) Google ( GOOG ) will invest about 5 billion euros ($5.8 billion) in Germany, Reuters reported. Google ( GOOG ) plans to build a new data center near Frankfurt and expand its facility in the city of Hanau, the report said. Alphabet shares edged up 0.4%.
Microsoft ( MSFT ) will invest $10 billion to build an AI data center on Portugal's coast, news outlets reported Tuesday. Microsoft ( MSFT ) shares rose 0.6%.
