July 28 (Reuters) -
STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex was down 0.09% at 76,765.92,
while the broader NSE Nifty 50 index declined 0.04% to
23,985.35, as a pause in the Middle East strikes ahead of the
U.S. Federal Reserve rate decision gave the markets a breather.
RUPEE:
The Indian rupee rose 0.06% versus the U.S. dollar to
95.8525, closing at its strongest level in two weeks as a sharp
retreat in oil prices and likely central bank intervention
helped the currency cement its bounceback from near record low
levels.
GOVERNMENT BONDS:
The benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 101.135
rupees, with the yield rising marginally at 6.7774%, as hefty
supply of 10-year notes later this week and the looming Federal
Reserve policy decision capped risk appetite.
OVERNIGHT INDEX SWAPS:
The one-year overnight index swap rate was
marginally down at 5.8825%, while the five-year swap rate
dropped nearly 1 bp to 6.35%.
CALL MONEY:
India's overnight call money rate was at 5.35% and the
overnight TREPS rate was at 5.30%.
