Social Buzz: Wallstreetbets Stocks Advance Premarket Thursday; MicroStrategy, Robinhood Markets to Open Higher

06:40 AM EST, 01/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The most-talked-about stocks in the Reddit subforum Wallstreetbets advanced hours before Thursday's opening bell.

MicroStrategy ( MSTR ) rose by 6% hours before market open, reversing a 4.4% decline from the previous session.

Robinhood Markets ( HOOD ) advanced by 2.8% premarket, swinging from a 2.7% decline at Tuesday's close.

Rocket Lab USA ( RKLB ) was up 1.9% in pre-bell activity, offsetting a portion of its 3.2% fall from the previous session.

Palantir Technologies ( PLTR ) was 1.6% higher premarket, after closing Tuesday with a 2% decline.

Tesla (TSLA) rose by 1.4% in pre-bell hours, swinging from a 3.3% decline at Tuesday's close.

Advanced Micro Devices ( AMD ) was up 1.2% in premarket activity, following a 1.4% fall from Tuesday's session.

Nvidia ( NVDA ) was 1.2% higher in pre-bell hours, after closing Tuesday with a 2.3% decline.

AST SpaceMobile ( ASTS ) advanced by 1% hours before the opening bell, swinging from a 3.3% fall at Tuesday's close.

Rajesh Bhatia, MD and CIO of Investment Trust of India (ITI) Long-Short Equity Fund in conversation with CNBC-TV18 has said that at present it is not a short market, it is a long market. "Our short book is far lower, relative to what we would had in normal market conditions. This is basically an acceleration of PE ratios of the equity class, thanks to what has happened globally with the kind of liquidity unleashed and today the thesis of India is that we are at the cusp of an earning cycle, cusp of a new credit cycle. If that is the thesis, then the breadth of the market is going to be far broader," he added, when asked what his short positions were.
