Closing Bell: Market ends over 1% higher, Nifty above 12,260; financials rally, Bajaj Finserv top gainer
The Indian benchmark equity indices, Sensex and Nifty ended with robust gains on Friday led by heavy buying in banking and financial stocks amid positive global cues.
The Sensex ended 552.90 points or 1.34 percent higher at 41,893.06 while the Nifty gained 143.25 points or 1.18 percent to close at 12,263.55. Broader indices, Nifty Smallcap100 and Nifty Midcap100 indices gained 0.5 percent each.
Among sectors, Nifty Private Bank rallied the most over 2 percent followed by Nifty Financial Services, Nifty IT and Nifty Realty while Nifty Pharma and Nifty FMCG ended in the red.

Gold rate today: Yellow metal trades lower; support seen at Rs 51,750 level
Gold prices in India traded lower on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) Friday after witnessing a rally in the previous session while silver prices rose.
At 11:15 am, gold futures for December delivery fell 0.38 percent to Rs 51,857 per 10 grams as against the previous close of Rs 52,055 and opening price of Rs 51,912 on the MCX. Silver futures traded 0.13 percent higher at Rs 64,335 per kg. The prices opened at Rs 64,479 as compared to the previous close of Rs 64,253 per kg.
Strength in the Indian rupee amid buying in the domestic equity market pressurized the yellow metal prices.
International gold fell on Friday after surging in the previous session, as the dollar gained, but was set for its best week since late July on hopes for more central bank economic support as investors bet on a divided US Congress under a Biden presidency, Reuters reported. Here's more

10 companies with m-cap above Rs 10,000 cr have more than 25% of promoter holdings pledged
Investors wondering over promoters pledging their holdings will find little reasons to be excited even though the latest trend remains more or less unaltered.
According to a recent report by Edelweiss Securities, the value of pledge for the July-September quarter stood around Rs 2 lakh crore, about 1.3 percent of the total market capitalization of the Edelweiss Alternative Research universe. Ten companies with a market cap above Rs 10,000 crore had more than 25 percent of promoter holdings pledged.
Ruchi Soya and Max Financial were the companies with a market cap above Rs 10,000 crore having the highest promoter holding pledged at 99.93 percent and 90.32 percent, respectively. Click here to read more

Gland Pharma: Key things to know about India's largest pharma IPO
Fosun Singapore and Shanghai Fosun Pharma-promoted Gland Pharma is set to launch its initial public offer (IPO) worth over Rs 6,400 crore on November 9. The company has fixed the price band for its offer at Rs 1,490-1,500 per share.
At the higher price band, Gland Pharma aims to raise Rs 6,479.54 crore via public issue.
The issue, closing on November 11, will open for a day for anchor investors on November 6.
The IPO consists of a fresh issue of Rs 1,250 crore and an offer for sale of 3,48,63,635 equity shares by the promoter and other selling shareholders. Click here for more

Explained: How to send money on WhatsApp
Messaging app WhatsApp on Friday rolled out UPI payment services for its customers. Through this facility, people across India will be able to send money through WhatsApp.
WhatsApp has designed this payment feature in partnership with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
To send money on WhatsApp, users must have a bank account and debit card in India. If you haven't set up a UPI linked to your bank account, you do so through WhatsApp.
Payments are available in ten Indian regional language versions of WhatsApp. For the same, the users need a debit card with a bank that supports UPI and the latest Android or iOS version of WhatsApp.
Since this is a phased rollout, some users may not be available to use WhatsApp immediately. Read all the steps here

Indian Overseas Bank Q2FY21 | The bank reported a net profit of Rs 148.1 crore as against a loss of Rs 2,253.6 crore, YoY. Net ineterst income increased 29.7 percent to Rs 1,561.3 crore from Rs 1,204 crore, YoY. Asset quality improved as gross NPA fell 3.45 percent to Rs 17,660 crore from Rs 18,291 crore while net NPA declined 13 percent to 5,291 crore from Rs 6,081 crore, QoQ. Gross NPA ratio fell 86 bps to 13.04 percent while net NPA ratio decreased 80 bps to 4.30 percent, sequentially.
