The National Stock Exchange (NSE) is set to undergo its semi-annual index review on September 29, 2023, with adjustments scheduled for September 28, 2023. The event is significant especially for passive funds that closely track the Nifty and various NSE indices.

Passive funds which replicate the composition and performance of benchmark indices, including exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and index-tracking mutual funds, are designed to mimic the returns of a specific index. Consequently, any changes to the index composition can have a direct impact on the fund's holdings and performance. Additionally, there have also been weight changes announced recently, particularly concerning the CPSE ETF.
