May be a time for mean reversion: Rajeev Thakkar

Should buy cement sector on all the bad results: Jyotivardhan Jaipuria

“We like cement now because we know that the results are going to be bad," said Jyotivardhan Jaipuria, Founder & MD, Valentis Advisors. "In the last one year, EBITDA/tonne was under pressure because we were seeing increase in the input cost pressure. Now that the input cost pressure is easing, so going forward lower input costs will come in." According to Jaipuria, it's a sector which one should buy on all the bad results.

On banks, he said, “Whether it's a PSU or private, it doesn't matter. The way I classify it is - retail banks and corporate banks. So we have been positive and we continue to be positive on the corporate banks because that is where the cycle is going to help, that is where all the NPL pressure will start easing... We don't have a PSU because a lot of cheaper private sector banks, which probably have same valuations and they give same characteristics as a lot of the public sector companies.”
