Indian market good relative to emerging market peers: HSBC's Murat Ulgen

Murat Ulgen, Global Head of Emerging Markets Research at HSBC, tells CNBC-TV18 that in his view, India is one of those markets where investors actually see deceleration in inflation. In a way, it is a good place to be relative to other emerging markets, he says.

"This is exactly where you want to be given that currently it's exactly the opposite. So in that regard, India stands out much better," he adds.

Bajaj Auto Share Buyback | The wait for the final price keeps investors nervous

Bajaj Auto shares suffer sharp losses amid choppy trade on Tuesday as a key meeting of the automaker's board to consider a proposed buyback of equity ends with no result. The company's management says further deliberations are required to decide on the equity buyback.

The Bajaj Auto stock tumble in the final 30 minutes of the session after the announcement, finishing the day lower by Rs 196.2 or 5.1 percent at Rs 3,684.4 after gyrating within a narrow range around the flatline for much of the session.

“It is quite surprising that after giving a notice, they have deferred the buyback. Of course the board of directors can take a call to either not go ahead or to postpone or any other possibilities, but generally, it doesn’t happen," Kunj Bansal of Investment-Illiteracy.com tells CNBC-TV18.
