Aug 27, 2025 4:52 AM

07:29 AM EDT, 08/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The main US stock measures were pointing higher in Wednesday's premarket activity as investors await tech bellwether Nvidia's ( NVDA ) latest financial results.

The S&P 500, the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the Nasdaq were slightly in the green before the opening bell. The indexes closed the previous trading session higher.

Shares of Nvidia ( NVDA ) were up 0.6% pre-bell, with the chip-making giant scheduled to report its quarterly earnings after the markets close. The current consensus on FactSet is for the company to report non-GAAP earnings of $1.01 per share and revenue of $46.05 billion for its fiscal second quarter.

"Expectations are high after a rapid run in (artificial intelligence) spending," Ruben Dalfovo, investment strategist at Saxo Bank, said in a Tuesday note. "Nvidia ( NVDA ) is now the largest weight in the S&P 500 at roughly 8%, so its guidance can sway broad portfolios."

Trump said Cook may have made "false statements on one or more mortgage agreements."

The Fed reportedly said Tuesday that it would respect any court ruling on Trump's authority to dismiss Cook.
