07:05 AM EST, 11/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The main US stock measures were pointing higher in Wednesday's premarket activity as traders await a key vote that could end the longest-ever federal government shutdown.
The S&P 500 rose 0.3%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up 0.1% and the Nasdaq added 0.5% before the opening bell. The S&P 500 closed the previous trading session in the green for the third consecutive day, while the Dow notch a fresh record closing high. The Nasdaq finished lower.
The US House of Representatives is expected to vote Wednesday afternoon on a funding bill to end the ongoing government shutdown, which has entered its 43rd day, according to multiple media outlets. Earlier in the week, the Senate approved the funding package in a 60-40 majority.
Treasury yields were down before the open, with the two-year rate retreating 3.1 basis points to 3.56% and the 10-year rate off 1.9 basis points to 4.09%.
Several key Federal Reserve officials are scheduled to speak Wednesday, including Governors Christopher Waller and Stephen Miran at 10:20 am ET and 12:30 pm, respectively. New York City Fed President John Williams, Philadelphia Fed President Anna Paulson, Atlanta Fed President Raphael Bostic and Boston Fed President Susan Collins are also expected to convey their remarks.
Wednesday's thin economic calendar has the weekly mortgage applications bulletin at 7 am.
Shares of Advanced Micro Devices ( AMD ) advanced 4.8% pre-bell after the chipmaker set long-term financial targets, including robust revenue and earnings growth, fueled by its data center and client and gaming businesses. Moderna ( MRNA ) was down 2.1% while Merck ( MRK ) inched 0.1% higher.
Nvidia ( NVDA ) rebounded 1% after closing Tuesday with a drop of nearly 3%.
Transdigm Group ( TDG ) , Tencent Music Entertainment ( TME ) , Circle Internet Group ( CRCL ) and On Holding ( ONON ) report their latest financial results before the bell, among others. Cisco Systems ( CSCO ) and Flutter Entertainment ( FLUT ) post earnings after the markets close.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil declined 0.9% to $60.48 a barrel in premarket action. Gold increased 0.4% to $4,132 per troy ounce, while bitcoin gained 2% to $104,893.
