07:23 AM EST, 11/19/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The main US stock measures were pointing higher in Wednesday's premarket activity as investors await tech bellwether Nvidia's ( NVDA ) latest earnings and minutes of the Federal Reserve's last policy meeting.

The S&P 500 rose 0.4%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up 0.2% and the Nasdaq added 0.5% before the opening bell. The indexes slumped to their lowest levels since October on Tuesday, with the Dow and the S&P 500 falling for a fourth consecutive session.

Shares of Nvidia ( NVDA ) were up 1.2% pre-bell, with the chip-making giant scheduled to report its fiscal third-quarter results after the markets close. The current consensus on FactSet is for the company to report non-GAAP earnings of $1.26 per share and revenue of $54.9 billion for the quarter.

"The S&P 500 faces a challenging technical backdrop as we head towards two key risk events: Nvidia's ( NVDA ) earnings and the delayed September nonfarm payrolls," Saxo Bank said in a report Tuesday. "Against a backdrop of concerns about AI valuations and the quality of earnings in the sector, as well as mounting worries about whether the (Federal Reserve) will cut next month, the market's reflex has been to pull back from all-time highs following a monster rally since the April lows."

The delayed jobs report for September is due on Thursday.

Treasury yields were down slightly before the open, with the two-year rate retreating 0.6 basis points to 3.58% and the 10-year rate off 0.2 basis points to 4.12%.

The Fed is scheduled to post minutes of its last policy meeting at 2 pm ET, which will be assessed for fresh insight on the central bank's monetary policy. Last month, the Federal Open Market Committee reduced its benchmark lending rate by 25 basis points and reiterated concerns regarding the labor market.

The probability that the central bank will cut interest rates by 25 basis points next month stood at 47% on Wednesday, down from 50% the day before, according to the CME FedWatch tool.

Fed Governor Stephen Miran is scheduled to speak at 10 am, while New York Fed President John Williams speaks at 2 pm. Inflation is unlikely to accelerate much from here on out as consumers trade down and cut back on expenses amid high prices, Richmond Fed President Tom Barkin said Tuesday.

Wednesday's economic calendar also has the weekly mortgage applications bulletin at 7 am, followed by the delayed international trade in goods and services report for August at 8:30 am. The weekly EIA domestic petroleum inventories report is out at 10:30 am.

Retail companies TJX (TJX), Lowe's (LOW), Target ( TGT ) and Williams-Sonoma ( WSM ) are also set to announce their latest financial results before the bell, along with others. Palo Alto Networks ( PANW ) releases its earnings after the markets close.

West Texas Intermediate crude oil decreased 1.5% to $59.84 a barrel in premarket action. Gold advanced 1.1% to $4,112 per troy ounce, while bitcoin declined 1.6% to $91,385.
