These NSE stocks hit their 52-week highs or lows on July 1

SUMMARY

The Indian market was trading higher around noon on Monday. Sentiments improved ahead of the Union Budget 2019 as the US and China had agreed to resume trade negotiations. Stocks rallied and bonds retreated in Asia, leading investors to pare wagers on aggressive policy easing by the major central banks. At 2.38 PM, the BSE Sensex was up 332.35 points, or 0.84 percent, at 39,726.99, and the Nifty 50 was trading 87.95 points, or 0.75 percent, higher at 11,876.80. While stocks such as Adani Power, Kalpataru Power and Godrej Properties climbed to reach their 52-week high, Cox & Kings and Glenmark Pharma hit their 52-week low today.

Adani Power rose 15 percent to touch its 52-week high of Rs 59.05 a share. The company acquired GMR Chhattisgarh Energy Ltd as the consortium of lenders approved its resolution plan, according to an exchange filing.

Torrent Power climbed 4 percent to reach its 52-week high of Rs 292.80 per share on the NSE. The company has entered into a power procurement arrangement with Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission, it said in an exchange filing.

HDFC rose 2.1 percent to touch the 52-week high of Rs 2240 per share.

Godrej Properties rose 6.2 percent to hit the 52-week high of Rs 1,065 per share on the NSE. The company, on Saturday, said it had raised Rs 2,100 crore by issuing equity shares to qualified institutional buyers.

Kalpataru Power climbed 5.6 percent to touch its 52-week high of Rs 554.50 per share. KPTL said it had secured new orders worth Rs 975 crore.

HDFC AMC edged 1.8 percent to hit the 52-week high of Rs 2,099 per share on the NSE.

Eros Media fell about 5 percent to touch its 52-week low of Rs 17.20 per share on the NSE. Earlier this month, the company had been downgraded by CARE Ratings and Moody's Investors Service, resulting in the decline of the stock.

Castrol shares fell 2.1 percent to touch its 52-week low of Rs 129.70 per share.

Glenmark Pharma fell about 1 percent to hit its 52-week low of Rs 439 per share. The company said that it has received US FDA approval for Ezetimibe and Simvastatin tablets, used for treating high levels of cholesterol in the blood.

Cox & Kings declined 4.8 percent to touch the 52-week low of Rs 35 per share on the NSE. The company, on Friday, said that it defaulted on payment towards maturity of commercial papers worth Rs 150 crore.
