SUMMARY

Indian shares extended gains in the afternoon trade on Wednesday led by gains in realty, auto and PSU banks. Market sentiment has also improved due to positive global cues and hopes of further measures by the government to boost the economy. At 1:40 pm, the S&P BSE Sensex was trading at 37,263.92 , higher by 118.47 points or 0.32 percent, while the Nifty50 was at 11,030.35, up by 28.50 points or 0.26 percent. ICICI Prudential Life Insurance's share price gained 0.82 percent to touch a 52-week high of Rs 446 on the NSE.

Petronet LNG's shares rose 1.75 percent to a 52-week high of Rs 269.95.
