This micro-cap stock gave 156% return in one year, over 100% in just a week

Shares of SPL Industries Ltd gained over 106 percent for the last one week on the back of strong June quarter results.

The garment company reported net sales of Rs 28.35 crore for the June 2018 quarter. It posted net profit of Rs 6.58 crore for Q1FY19 as against Rs 3.76 crores on year-over-year (YoY) basis.

On Tuesday, SPL Industries shares hit 52-week high of Rs 51.10 after opening at Rs 48.80. The stock has traded higher than 200 day moving average.

For the year, the stock has returned over 156 percent, outperforming both sector by 163 percent and the Sensex by 133 percent.

Originally incorporated as Shivalik Prints Private Ltd in late 1991, the company's name was changed to SPL Industries Ltd in September 1994.

The company is promoted by H.R. Gupta and Vijay Jindal and is a leading manufacturer and exporter of knitted fabric and garments.

SPL Industries designs, manufactures and sells a wide range of outer wear T shirts, sweat shirts, polo shirts, etc. for top end customers in the international market.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex traded at 38,885.89, higher by 192 points or by half a percent, while the NSE Nifty 50 added 48 points or rising by 0.41 percent, to trade at 11,740.15 at 1:43 PM.
