04:01 PM EDT, 05/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Most major digital assets fell Tuesday, with with bitcoin (BTC-USD) declining near the $61,000 mark.
The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks 193 digital assets, was down 2.3% in the past 24 hours, while the Nasdaq 100, the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.7%, 0.5% and 0.4%, respectively.
Bitcoin (BTC-USD), the largest cryptocurrency by market value, fell 2.3% in the last 24 hours at $61,565, according to CoinMarketCap data. Trading volume was $28.56 billion, up 3.7%.
Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset, was trading 2.1% lower at $2,892.
BNB (BNB-USD), the third-largest digital asset by market value excluding stablecoins, fell 4.4% and Solana (SOL-USD), the fourth-largest, declined 3%.
XRP (XRP-USD), Toncoin (TON-USD) and Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) dropped 0.4%, 4% and 3%, respectively. Cardano (ADA-USD) was trading 2.2% lower.
The US 10-year Treasury yield closed at 4.443% on Tuesday, compared to 4.479% Monday, while the five-year Treasury yield closed at 4.456%, down from 4.497% a day ago.
The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry was down 2.3% in the last 24 hours at $2.25 trillion. The total trading volumes increased 7.3% to $76.34 billion.
