03:56 PM EDT, 03/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Most major digital assets were mixed Thursday, with bitcoin (BTC-USD) hovering above $65,000.
The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks 182 digital assets, was up 0.3% in the past 24 hours while the Nasdaq 100, the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.6%, 0.5% and 0.9%, respectively.
Bitcoin (BTC-USD), the largest cryptocurrency by market value, was down 0.6% in the past 24% hours at $65,232, according to CoinMarketCap data. Trading volume was $49.42 billion, down 23%.
Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset, was trading 2.1% higher at $3,443.
BNB (BNB-USD), the third-largest digital asset by market value excluding stablecoins, rose 2.4% and Solana (SOL-USD), the fourth-largest, decreased 2.1%.
XRP (XRP-USD), Cardano (ADA-USD) and Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) rose 5.1%, 0.5% and 2%, respectively. Avalanche (AVAX-USD) retreated 2.4%.
The US 10-year Treasury yield closed at 4.269% on Thursday, compared with 4.267% Wednesday, while the five-year Treasury yield closed at 4.251%, up from 4.242%.
The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry increased 0.6% in the past 24 hours at $2.48 trillion. The total trading volume decreased 19% to $132.82 billion.
