Top Cryptocurrencies Rise; Bitcoin Tops $83,000 Level

04:01 PM EDT, 03/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Major digital assets were firmer late afternoon Tuesday, with Bitcoin (BTC-USD) surpassing the $83,000 level.

The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks dozens of digital assets including Bitcoin, was up 6.4% in the past 24 hours. The Nasdaq 100 was up 0.4% in late trading, the S&P 500 fell 0.2% and Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased 0.7%.

Bitcoin was up 5.1% at $83,063, according to CoinMarketCap data. The most popular cryptocurrency's 24-hour trading volume increased 5.6% to $56.6 billion.

Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset by market value, climbed 4.5% to $1,952.

XRP (XRP-USD) surged 6.6%, BNB (BNB-USD) added 3.7%, and Solana (SOL-USD) gained 6.9%.

Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) rose 7.1%, while Cardano (ADA-USD) jumped 6.1%.

The US 10-year Treasury yield stood at 4.286% at 3 p.m. ET Tuesday, rising from 4.211% Monday, while the five-year yield rose to 4.038% from 3.972%.

The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry increased 5% in the past 24 hours to $2.7 trillion, with trading volume rising 4.3% at $147.3 billion.
