02:09 PM EDT, 08/15/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Spire Global ( SPIR ) disclosed late Wednesday a notification of late filing related to its Q2 report on Form 10-Q, saying the company is "working diligently" to finalize its financial statements and will file the report "as soon as practicable."

Shares slumped 33% as intraday trading volume soared to over 2.7 million versus the stock's daily average of about 453,000.

Shares of SIGA Technologies ( SIGA ) plunged 29% amid heavy trading after the National Institutes of Health said Thursday that the company's tecovirimat failed to meet the primary endpoint in a trial evaluating the medication as a potential treatment for the monkeypox virus.

More than 12.9 million shares traded intraday compared with a daily average of about 776,000.

Lockheed Martin ( LMT ) said Thursday it agreed to acquire Terran Orbital (LLAP) for an enterprise value of about $450 million.

Under the terms of the deal, Lockheed Martin ( LMT ) will buy Terran Orbital for $0.25 in cash per outstanding common share and retire the latter's existing debt. Terran's shares had closed at $0.40 on Wednesday.

Shares of Terran sank 40% as intraday trading volume catapulted to more than 35.4 million versus a daily average of about 4.3 million.
