01:16 PM EDT, 05/31/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Novo Integrated Sciences ( NVOS ) shares surged past 137% amid heavy trading after the company said late Thursday it received written confirmation that HSBC Holdings (HSBC) issued a Ready, Willing, and Able for delivery by Swift MT 760 of a standby letter of credit.

More than 250 million shares traded intraday versus a daily average of less than 988,000.

Affinity Bancshares ( AFBI ) announced an agreement under which Atlanta Postal Credit Union will acquire its subsidiary Affinity Bank.

Shares of Affinity jumped 21% and intraday trading volume shot to more than 157,000 from a daily average of nearly 4,000.

Carl Icahn has acquired a large position in Caesars Entertainment ( CZR ) , Bloomberg reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter. A representative for Icahn declined to comment, while Caesars couldn't immediately be reached for comment, Bloomberg said.

Caesars shares climbed nearly 10% as intraday trading volume increased to over 18.6 million from a daily average of about 3.6 million.
