More than 16 million shares traded intraday compared with a daily average of about 3.5 million.

MIRA Pharmaceuticals ( MIRA ) said Thursday that preclinical data showed potential benefits of Ketamir-2, a treatment candidate for neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders.

Shares jumped more than 29% as intraday trading volume soared to over 46.3 million versus the stock's daily average of about 3.84 million.

Predictive Oncology ( POAI ) said Thursday that it is expanding its drug discovery platform driven by artificial intelligence/machine learning to find novel biomarkers that can be used to predict patient outcomes and drug response in oncology.

Citing third-party research, the company said the biomarker discovery market is estimated to be $51.5 billion this year.

Shares surged 70.1% as intraday trading volume catapulted to more than 152.4 million from a daily average of about 1.86 million.
