01:49 PM EST, 11/15/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Bloom Energy's ( BE ) shares surged in Friday afternoon trading after the company said it signed an agreement to supply up to 1 gigawatt of its fuel cells to American Electric Power ( AEP ) . The financial terms of the deal were undisclosed.

Piper Sandler upgraded Bloom Energy ( BE ) to overweight from neutral while adjusting its price target to $20 from $10.

Shares jumped more than 50% as intraday trading volume soared to more than 45.9 million from a daily average of about 5.5 million.

Simpple ( SPPL ) said Friday it received a $400,000 contract to supply autonomous cleaning robotics at one of Singapore's international airport terminals.

Shares soared about 47% as intraday trading volume advanced to more than 161 million from a daily average of about 8.5 million.
