01:45 PM EDT, 03/20/2025 (MT Newswires) -- OptiNose ( OPTN ) shares surged 52% amid heavy trading after the company said overnight it agreed to be acquired by Paratek Pharmaceuticals in a deal valued at up to $330 million.

Intraday trading volume soared to more than 1.6 million shares from a daily average of about 36,000.

ProAssurance ( PRA ) said late Wednesday that it agreed to be acquired by The Doctors Company for about $1.3 billion.

Shares surged 48% as intraday trading volume rose to over 12.5 million from a daily average of roughly 209,000.

Windtree Therapeutics ( WINT ) said Thursday it signed a license and supply agreement to become the sourcing partner for Evofem Biosciences' Phexxi, an on-demand prescription contraceptive vaginal gel.

Shares advanced 25%, with intraday trading volume catapulting to over 115.8 million compared with a daily average of about 356,000.
