01:43 PM EST, 11/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Merck ( MRK ) agreed to acquire Cidara Therapeutics ( CDTX ) for $9.2 billion, or $221.50 a share in cash.

Shares of Cidara more than doubled as intraday volume topped 13.7 million shares, compared with the daily average of almost 867,000.

Avadel Pharmaceuticals ( AVDL ) received an unsolicited acquisition proposal from Lundbeck for up to $23 a share, which may result in a "Company Superior Proposal" under its existing agreement with Alkermes ( ALKS ) .

Shares of Avadel jumped 21% with intraday volume topping 9.71 million, compared with the daily average of 2.46 million.

Binah Capital ( BCG ) shares rose 38%, a day after the company reported a Q3 profit and higher revenue.

Intraday trading topped 20.9 million, compared with the daily average of 46,000.
