Shares soared 66% as intraday trading volume catapulted to over 218.9 million from a daily average of about 2.3 million.

Photronics ( PLAB ) shares surged 45% amid heavy trading after the firm reported fiscal Q4 non-GAAP earnings and sales above analysts' estimates on Wednesday.
