Shares jumped past 13%, with intraday trading volume at over 1.7 million compared with a daily average of about 566,000.

Teradyne ( TER ) shares soared nearly 11% amid heavy trading after the company reported overnight a stronger-than-expected increase in Q4 earnings and sales, and issued a Q1 outlook above estimates.
