11:45 AM EDT, 08/06/2025 (MT Newswires) -- All three major US stock indexes were up in late-morning trading Wednesday as market participants poured over the latest round of big-name corporate earnings.
In company news, President Donald Trump will announce on Wednesday that Apple ( AAPL ) has made a commitment to spend an additional $100 billion on US manufacturing, Bloomberg reported, citing a White House spokesperson. Apple ( AAPL ) shares were up 5.6% around midday.
Walt Disney ( DIS ) reported fiscal Q3 adjusted earnings Wednesday of $1.61 per diluted share, up from $1.39 a year earlier and above the FactSet consensus analyst expectation of $1.45. Fiscal Q3 revenue was $23.65 billion, up from $23.16 billion a year ago but below the FactSet consensus of $23.69 billion. For 2025, the company expects adjusted EPS of $5.85, up from its prior guidance of $5.75. Analysts expect $5.80. Disney ( DIS ) shares were down 3.4%.
McDonald's (MCD) reported Q2 non-GAAP earnings Wednesday of $3.19 per diluted share, up from $2.97 a year earlier and above the FactSet consensus of $3.14. Second-quarter revenue was $6.84, up from $6.49 a year ago and above the FactSet consensus of $6.70 billion. McDonald's shares were up 2.9%.
Advanced Micro Devices ( AMD ) reported Q2 non-GAAP earnings late Tuesday of $0.48 per diluted share, down from $0.69 a year earlier and in-line with the FactSet consensus. Second-quarter revenue was $7.69 billion, up from $5.84 billion a year ago and above the FactSet consensus of $7.41 billion. The company said it expects Q3 revenue of about $8.7 billion, plus or minus $300 million. Analysts polled by FactSet expect $8.32 billion. AMD shares were down 7.6%.
Uber Technologies ( UBER ) reported Q2 earnings Wednesday of $0.63 per diluted share, up from $0.47 a year earlier and in-line with the FactSet consensus. Second-quarter revenue was $12.65 billion, up from $10.70 billion a year ago and above the FactSet consensus of $12.47 billion. The company said its board authorized a repurchase program of up to $20 billion of common shares. Uber ( UBER ) shares were down 1.3%.
Shopify ( SHOP ) reported Q2 non-GAAP, diluted EPS of $0.35 on Wednesday, up from $0.26 a year earlier and above the FactSet consensus of $0.29. Second-quarter revenue was $2.68 billion, up from $2.05 billion a year earlier and above the FactSet consensus of $2.55 billion. For Q3, the company expects revenue growth at a mid-to-high 20s percentage rate. Shopify ( SHOP ) shares were recently up by more than 20%.
