11:30 AM EDT, 06/04/2025 (MT Newswires) -- All three major US stock indexes were up slightly in late-morning trading after new ADP data showed that private payrolls increased by 37,000 in May, well below the consensus expectation compiled by Bloomberg that predicted a 114,000 gain.
In company news, Wells Fargo ( WFC ) said late Tuesday that the Federal Reserve lifted its asset cap on the bank that was put in place in 2018.
CrowdStrike ( CRWD ) reported fiscal Q1 non-GAAP earnings late Tuesday of $0.73 per diluted share, down from $0.79 a year earlier but above the $0.66 consensus of analysts surveyed by FactSet. Fiscal Q1 revenue was $1.1 billion, up from $921 million a year ago and in line with expectations. The company expects fiscal Q2 non-GAAP EPS of $0.82 to $0.84 on revenue of $1.14 billion to $1.15 billion. Analysts expect EPS of $0.81 on $1.16 billion in revenue. CrowdStrike ( CRWD ) also raised its full-year adjusted EPS guidance to between $3.44 and $3.56 from $3.33 to $3.45. Analysts polled by FactSet expect $3.46.
Chart Industries ( GTLS ) and Flowserve ( FLS ) agreed to an all-stock merger of equals that values the combined company at about $19 billion, the companies said Wednesday. Chart investors will receive 3.165 shares of Flowserve ( FLS ) for each stock they own. Once the deal is completed, which is expected to occur in Q4, Chart shareholders will control 53.5% of the combined company.
Dollar Tree ( DLTR ) reported fiscal Q1 adjusted earnings from continuing operations Wednesday of $1.26 per share, up from $1.23 a year earlier and above the $1.21 consensus of analysts polled by FactSet. Fiscal Q1 revenue was $4.64 billion, up from $4.17 billion a year ago and above the $4.54 average estimate of analysts surveyed by FactSet. For fiscal Q2, the company said it expects adjusted EPS from continuing operations to be down as much as 45% to 50% year-over-year before re-accelerating over the next two quarters. For fiscal 2025, Dollar Tree ( DLTR ) said it now expects adjusted EPS of $5.15 to $5.65, up from the previous range of $5 to $5.50.
