11:37 AM EDT, 06/30/2025 (MT Newswires) -- All three major US stock indexes were up in late-morning trading Monday after Canada announced late Sunday that it is rescinding its digital services tax in order to salvage trade discussions with the US.

In company news, Hewlett Packard Enterprise ( HPE ) and Juniper Networks ( JNPR ) said Saturday they have reached a deal with the US Department of Justice to resolve an antitrust lawsuit against HPE's proposed $14 billion takeover of Juniper. As part of the settlement, Hewlett Packard ( HPE ) agreed to divest its global Instant On campus and branch business, the companies said. Hewlett Packard ( HPE ) shares were up 13.7% around midday, while those of Juniper were up 8.4%.

Home Depot (HD) subsidiary SRS Distribution will acquire all outstanding shares of GMS (GMS) for $110 per share, or and enterprise value of about $5.5 billion, GMS said Monday. The deal is expected to close by the end of January, subject to customary closing conditions, regulatory approvals and the tender of a majority of GMS shares then outstanding, GMS said. Home Depot shares were down 0.8%, while those of GMS were up 11.7%.

Moderna ( MRNA ) said Monday that late-stage trial data showed its experimental flu vaccine was more effective than currently-available shots. The mRNA-1010 product demonstrated efficacy of 26.6% in adults aged 50 years old and above, higher than a licensed influenza vaccine, Moderna ( MRNA ) said. The experimental drug also showed "strong" relative efficacy for each influenza strain contained in the vaccine. Moderna ( MRNA ) shares were up 3.1%.

Oracle (ORCL) said Monday in a regulatory filing that Chief Executive Safra Catz is expected to inform staff the company has signed "multiple large" cloud services deals, including one that is anticipated to add over $30 billion in annual revenue beginning in fiscal 2028. Oracle shares were up 4.9%.

Alphabet's (GOOG) Google ( GOOG ) has signed an offtake agreement for 200 megawatts of fusion power from Commonwealth Fusion Systems' ARC power plant in Chesterfield County, Virginia, according to a joint statement Monday. Commonwealth expects the power plant to be operational in the early 2030s, the companies said, adding that Google ( GOOG ) has the option to offtake power from additional ARC power plants. Alphabet shares were down 0.6%.

AbbVie ( ABBV ) said Monday it has agreed to acquire clinical-stage biotechnology company Capstan Therapeutics. AbbVie ( ABBV ) said it will pay up to $2.1 billion in cash at closing. AbbVie ( ABBV ) shares were up 1.5%.

Hyatt Hotels ( H ) said Monday it has agreed to sell its Playa hotels and resorts portfolio to Tortuga Resorts for $2 billion. Hyatt said it can earn up to an additional $143 million from the portfolio divestment if certain operating thresholds are met. The deal is set to close before the end of the year. Hyatt shares were up 0.4%.

Parker-Hannifin ( PH ) said Monday it has agreed to acquire Curtis Instruments from Rehlko for about $1 billion in cash. The deal for Curtis, which designs and manufactures motor speed controllers, instrumentation, power conversion and input devices, is expected to close by the end of the year, subject to customary closing conditions. Parker-Hannifin ( PH ) shares were down 0.4%.
