Top Midday Stories: Nvidia, AMD to Pay US 15% of Revenue From Chip Sales to China; Paramount to Pay $7.7 Billion for UFC Media Rights

11:44 AM EDT, 08/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The Dow Jones Industrial average was lower, while the S&P 500 was flat and the Nasdaq was up slightly in late-morning trading on Monday as investors look ahead to another key week of inflation reports.

In company news, Nvidia ( NVDA ) and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) have agreed to give 15% of the revenue from sales of their advanced artificial intelligence chips to China to the US government, according to media reports. The deal includes sales of Nvidia's ( NVDA ) H20 chips and AMD's MI308 chips, the reports said. Nvidia ( NVDA ) shares were up 0.3% around midday, while those of AMD were up 2.9%.

Paramount Skydance ( PSKY ) and TKO Group Holdings ( TKO ) said Monday they have reached a seven-year, $7.7 billion media rights agreement through which Paramount will become the exclusive broadcast home for all UFC events in the US beginning in 2026. Paramount Skydance ( PSKY ) shares were down 1.5%, while those of TKO Group ( TKO ) were up 7.4%.

US authorities said Citigroup ( C ) oversaw more than $1 billion worth of transactions for a trust that a sanctioned Russian oligarch held a concealed stake in, Bloomberg reported Monday, citing documents it reviewed. Citigroup ( C ) shares were down 0.5%.

Micron Technology ( MU ) said Monday it now expects Q4 non-GAAP earnings of $2.85 per diluted share, plus or minus $0.07, up from its previous guidance of $2.50, plus or minus $0.15. Analysts polled by FactSet expect $2.30. Micron also said it expects Q4 revenue of $11.20 billion, plus or minus $100 million, up from its previous guidance of $10.70 billion, plus or minus $300 million. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expect $10.75 billion. Micron shares were up 2.5%.

C3.ai ( AI ) reported a fiscal Q1 preliminary non-GAAP loss from operations late Friday of $57.7 million to $57.9 million. Analysts polled by FactSet expected a loss of $20.4 million. Fiscal Q1 preliminary total revenue is expected to be $70.2 million to $70.4 million, below the FactSet consensus of $101.7 million. C3.ai ( AI ) shares were down 23.9%.

Ford Motor ( F ) said Monday it plans to invest almost $2 billion in its Louisville, Kentucky plant to build a midsize, four-door electric pickup truck. The pickup is expected to have a starting price of $30,000 and be launched for domestic and export markets in 2027, the automaker said. Ford shares were down 0.5%.
