Top Midday Stories: Oil Prices Rise Amid Rising Tensions in Middle East; Novo Nordisk Ends Collaboration With Hims & Hers
Jun 23, 2025 9:18 AM

11:55 AM EDT, 06/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- All three major US stock indexes were up in late-morning trading Monday after the US strikes on three nuclear sites in Iran over the weekend.

Both West Texas Intermediate crude and Brent crude oil prices were higher around midday Monday.

In company news, Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) said Monday it has ended its collaboration with Hims & Hers Health ( HIMS ) on the sale of weight loss drugs, including Wegovy. The two companies launched the partnership in April to sell Wegovy through Hims' telehealth platform. Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) said Hims "has failed to adhere to the law which prohibits mass sales of compounded drugs under the false guise of 'personalization' and are disseminating deceptive marketing that put patient safety at risk."

The US Federal Trade Commission said Monday it has accepted a consent order to resolve antitrust concerns related to Omnicom Group's ( OMC ) $13.5 billion acquisition of The Interpublic Group of Companies ( IPG ) . The proposed order imposes restrictions preventing Omnicom ( OMC ) from engaging in collusion or coordination to direct advertising away from media publishers based on those publishers' political or ideological viewpoints, the FTC said.

Bank of New York Mellon ( BK ) recently approached Northern Trust ( NTRS ) to express its interest in a potential merger, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday, citing people familiar with the matter. The chief executives of the companies had at least one conversation, according to the report.

Tesla (TSLA) shares rose on Monday after Chief Executive Elon Musk touted the company's "successful" rollout of its robotaxi fleet over the weekend in Austin, Texas.

Apple ( AAPL ) is in last-minute talks with European Commission regulators to avoid a fine over its App Store practices, the Financial Times reported Monday. Apple ( AAPL ) is expected to offer concessions on its "steering" rules, which currently restrict developers from directing users to alternative offers outside the App Store, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter.
