Top Midday Stories: Trump, Pfizer Reportedly Reach Deal to Lower Drug Prices; CoreWeave to Supply Meta With $14.2 Billion in Computing Power

11:36 AM EDT, 09/30/2025 (MT Newswires) -- All three major US stock indexes were down in late-morning trading Tuesday, as a federal government shutdown looms.

In company news, the Trump administration is expected to announce Tuesday that Pfizer ( PFE ) plans to lower prices for several of its medications in the US, The Washington Post reported. Separately, the White House is expected to unveil a direct-to-consumer website, dubbed TrumpRx, where Americans can buy prescription drugs, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday. Pfizer ( PFE ) shares were up 2.9% around midday.

CoreWeave ( CRWV ) will supply Meta Platforms ( META ) with $14.2 billion worth of computing power under a new deal signed by the two companies, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing an interview with CoreWeave ( CRWV ) Chief Executive Michael Intrator. CoreWeave ( CRWV ) shares were up 13.2%, while Meta shares were down 1.3%.

Spotify Technology ( SPOT ) said Tuesday it has appointed Gustav Soderstrom and Alex Norstrom as co-CEOs, with current CEO Daniel Ek slated to assume the role of executive chairman, effective Jan. 1. Spotify ( SPOT ) shares were down 4.7%.

Boeing ( BA ) plans to develop a new single-aisle airplane that would succeed the 737 MAX, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter. The new aircraft is in early-stage development, and plans are still taking shape, according to the report. Boeing ( BA ) shares were down 1.8%.

FuboTV ( FUBO ) said Tuesday its shareholders approved a previously disclosed deal with Walt Disney ( DIS ) to combine with the Hulu + Live TV business. Once the deal closes, Disney ( DIS ) will own about 70% of Fubo, the company said. Fubo shares were down 4.3%, while those of Disney ( DIS ) were down 1.1%.

Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) is offering some workers the option to be demoted or terminated, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing local unions. Some employees were given 24 hours to accept changes to the terms of employment or receive a severance package, the unions reportedly told Bloomberg. Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) shares were down 2.2%.

Hertz Global's ( HTZ ) used vehicle sales division, Hertz Car Sales, said Tuesday it has launched an online e-commerce platform that allows customers to browse, finance and purchase vehicles completely online. Hertz shares were up 0.9%.
