12:19 PM EDT, 04/11/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The three major averages were mixed near noon Thursday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average lower, but the S&P 500 Index, and the Nasdaq Composite were higher, as investors digested the latest report on producer prices.

In company news, UnitedHealth Group ( UNH ) Chairman Stephen Hemsley and three senior executives sold a combined $101.5 million worth of stock in the four months before a federal antitrust investigation became public knowledge, Bloomberg reported Thursday. Shares of the company were down 1.2% near midday.

CarMax ( KMX ) reported fiscal fourth-quarter earnings that missed analysts' consensus estimates, sending its stock price down significantly. The company reported $5.63 billion in revenue for the quarter, down 1.7% from the year-ago period and below the consensus estimate on Capital IQ of $5.81 billion. Earnings per share fell to $0.32 from $0.44 a year earlier and came in well below the consensus estimate of $0.45 on a GAAP basis. CarMax ( KMX ) shares were trading down 11.6% near noon.

An internal review by Boeing ( BA ) found that Chief Executive David Calhoun and other executives took over $500,000 worth of personal trips on the company's private jets and other planes that were improperly recorded as business travel, The Wall Street Journal reported. Boeing ( BA ) shares were down 1.1% around midday.

BlackRock ( BLK ) and Santander (SAN) announced that funds managed by the former will provide financing on a $600 million portfolio of infrastructure credit through a structured deal. Shares of BlackRock ( BLK ) were down 0.1%, while those of Santander were down 2.6% near noon.

Amazon ( AMZN ) Web Services was ordered to pay Kove $525 million after a federal jury ruled against it in a patent infringement trial. Separately, Amazon ( AMZN ) Chief Executive Andy Jassy told shareholders in a letter Thursday that he is committed to cutting costs while also boosting investment in artificial intelligence. Amazon ( AMZN ) shares were trading up 0.9% near midday.

Ford Motor ( F ) cut the price of its electric F-150 Lightning pickup truck by as much as 7.5% as it prepares to restart deliveries this month following a halt earlier in the year, according to media reports. Ford shares were down 0.5% in midday trading.

Skydance will meet with Paramount (PARA) management about a potential deal and begin its due diligence next week, CNBC's David Faber reported Thursday. Shares of Paramount were up 0.6% near noon.
