Top stocks that trended last week: Yes Bank top gainer; Cipla, Vedanta top losers

Indian equity market ended Friday's trade with mild losses, dragged by top IT and energy stocks, while gains in the financial and consumer counters arrested the downside. But for the week, the indices settled with mild gains. The broader Nifty was up 0.3 percent this week, while the Sensex also gained by 0.4 percent. The Nifty MidCap gained a percent this week and also ended higher on Friday.

Here's a list of top Nifty gainers and losers this week:

Yes Bank: The private sector lender's shares jumped 9 percent this week on value buying as uncertainty over Yes Bank's leadership question abated. Shares ended 5.5 percent higher at Rs 227.55.

Sun Pharma: The pharma shares were up 4.5 percent this week with shares settling at Rs 595.95, higher by 2.34 percent on Friday.

UPL: Shares settled at Rs 741, rising 1.5 percent on Friday, while gaining 4 percent overall for the week.

Asian Paints: The paint stock is up nearly 4 percent for the week as crude oil prices turn bearish. The stock ended at Rs 1,295, higher by 3.5 percent.

Bajaj Finserv: The consumer finance company's shares climbed 1.26 percent to Rs 5,699, continuing its recent uptrend. The stock ended 3.2 percent higher this week.

Cipla: The pharma stock is the top loser on the Nifty this week, plunging 13.2 percent. Cipla shares also ended Friday's trade lower by 1.21 percent, settling at Rs 526.90.

Vedanta: The largecap stock ended marginally lower at Rs 209.25, but slipped 7.5 percent this week.

Indian Oil Corp.: The downstream company dipped 4.5 percent this week, but closed with gains of nearly 2 percent on Friday. The stock quoted at Rs 141.65 apiece.

IndusInd Bank: The private bank stock surged nearly 1 percent, but underperformed the week, losing 3 percent in value. At the close on Friday, IndusInd shares quoted at Rs 1,498.05 apiece.

Titan: Shares declined 2.7 percent this week and also ended Friday's trading down by almost half a percent at Rs 846.
