Top stocks to watch out for on August 3: Titan, Berger Paints, Reliance, SBI in focus today

Markets are likely to see a gap-up opening on Friday after Thursday’s sharp downtrend on mixed cues. The Sensex stayed in the negative zone for the whole day on Thursday and ended at 37,165.16, losing 356.46 points. The Nifty ended at 11,244.70, down 101.50 points.

Sustained selling was seen in bank, auto, realty, metal stocks, while pharma stocks rallied along with oil marketing companies.

These are the stocks making the biggest moves premarket:

June quarter results: Titan Company, Gujarat Alkalies, BSE, Berger Paints, Mangalam Cement, Rico Auto Industries, Zydus Wellness, Den Networks, Shriram EPC, SAIL, Shipping Corporation Of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Taj GVK Hotels, National Fertilizers, VIP Industries, among others will release their Q1 numbers.

Reliance Jio, SBI: State Bank of India has inked a pact with Reliance Jio to integrate its digital banking app Yono with MyJio application to boost digital payments. About 1.5 crore of 42 crore SBI customers are using Yono now while the banking behemoth expects the number to multiply with the partnership with Jio.

ONGC: State-owned ONGC on Thursday reported its highest quarterly net profit in more than four and a half years on sharp rise in prices for the oil and gas it produced. Net profit of Rs 6,143.88 crore in the first quarter of the 2018-19 fiscal was 58.1 percent higher than Rs 3,884.73 crore in the year earlier period.

Indiabulls Housing Finance: The NBFC has reported a rise of 30 percent in consolidated net profit at Rs 1,048.68 crore for the quarter ended June. The company's net profit in the corresponding April-June period of 2017-18 stood at Rs 804.89 crore.

HDFC, HDFC Bank: The home loan provider hiked interest rates on home loans by 20 basis points, a day after RBI raised the benchmark repo rate by 25 bps to 6.5 percent. The stock ended lower on Thursday, dragging indexes lower.

The HDFC bank announced allotment of 1,28,47,222 equity shares of face value of Rs 2 each pursuant to the qualified institution's placement and issue of 1,75,00,000 American Depository Receipts, representing 5,25,00,000 underlying equity shares.

Manpasand Beverages: Fruit drinks manufacturer has reported a standalone total income from operations of Rs 334.64 crore and a net profit of Rs 36.38 crore for the quarter ended June 2018.

NBCC: The Supreme Court on Thursday ordered the National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) to submit a plan in 30 days on how to complete the projects of Amrapali Group which has failed to deliver flats to thousands of homebuyers despite having taken money from them.

Hindustan Copper: The company plans to spend Rs 55 billion to increase its mine production by six times to 20 million tonnes per year by 2023-2024 (Apr-Mar). The company plans to raise the money required for expansion through internal accruals, equity dilution and debt.

Mphasis: Midcap IT company Mphasis is going to consider the proposal for buyback of equity shares next week, Moneycontrol reported. If the proposal gets approved, Mphasis will be the sixth IT company to offer share buyback in the last one year, it added.

Torrent Pharma: Q1 profit fell 13.3 percent to Rs 163 crore versus Rs 188 crore; revenue rose to Rs 1,872 crore versus Rs 1,362 crore (YoY).
