The market is likely to open flat with a positive bias on mixed cues on Tuesday. The BSE Sensex closed higher by 135.73 points to 37,691.89, while the Nifty 50 rose 26.30 points to 11,387.10.

June quarter results: Prominent firms that will announce the first quarter results for the current fiscal include M&M, Motherson Sumi, PNB, TVS Motor, Adani Enterprises, Edelweiss Financial Services, GSK Consumers, Mphasis Ltd, AU Small Finance, Adani Transmission, Future Lifestyle Fashions, Asahi India Glass, Birla Corp, Kalpataru Power Transmission and Bombay Dyeing among others.
Reliance Industries: RIL has acquired 3,111,088 newly issued 'ordinary shares' from Eros which represent 5 percent of Eros's current issued and outstanding ordinary share capital on a pro forma basis, PTI reported.
NTPC: State-run NTPC Ltd on Monday deferred a tender for 2,000 megawatts (MW) solar power by a week as local companies started to feel the effect of a safeguard duty on solar cell and module imports from China and Malaysia, Mint reported.
HDFC AMC: HDFC AMC made a stellar debut on both NSE and BSE, surging over 67 percent from the issue price. HDFC AMC shares rose to Rs 1,844 at day’s high on NSE, as compared to the issue price of Rs 1,100. HDFC AMC shares opened 58.09 percent higher on the BSE at Rs 1,739 apiece.
Sun Pharma: The pharma firm has launched hypertension drug Kapspargo Sprinkle in US.
Suryachakra Power Corp: The company received a notice from NCLT on initiating insolvency proceedings, after the SBI filed application to initiate bankruptcy process.
Kridhan Infra: Associate company Vijay Nirman Company Pvt Ltd has been awarded a new project worth Rs 132.6 crore.
Hindustan Unilever: The FMCG firm said it has signed an agreement with Vijaykant Dairy and Food Products Ltd to acquire its ice cream and frozen desert business, which included its flagship brand ‘Adityaa Milk’.
Unichem Laboratories: The pharma company's API manufacturing facility at Roha was inspected by US FDA from July 30-August 3 and received four observations. Unichem's business not impacted, Moneycontrol reported.
Steel stocks: The Steel Ministry has sought zero duty on import of coking coal, Ferro alloys and natural gas.
PSU Banks, Bank: The Nifty Bank index closed at 27,898.50, up 203 points led by gains in shares of SBI, Axis Bank and ICICI Bank. Also, Syndicate Bank reported first quarter loss widening to Rs 1,281.77 crore versus Rs 263.19 crore, along with a 5.9 percent fall in net interest income to Rs 1,505.85 crore versus Rs 1,600.58 crore (YoY).
