The Indian market is set for a positive start on Friday as its global peers extended massive gains from the previous session.

However, Indian investors remained cautious after government data suggested that the fiscal deficit touched 114.8 percent of the full-year target of Rs 6.24 lakh crore at the end of November on account of lower revenue collections.

At 07:23 AM, SGX Nifty, an early indicator of the Nifty 50's trend in India, was up 0.57 percent at 10,871, indicating a positive opening for the Indian market.

Here are the top stocks to watch out for in today's trade:

PFC, REC: Allaying investors' concerns over acquisition of the government's stake in REC, Power Finance Corporation (PFC) Thursday said it has not yet decided on definitive pricing of the deal and its impact cannot be assessed at this stage.

Lemon Tree Hotels: Hospitality firm Lemon Tree Hotels on Thursday said it has formed a JV with an arm of global private equity firm Warburg Pincus to develop rental housing projects envisaging investments of Rs 3,000 crore over a period of time.

Jaypee Infratech, NBCC: Lenders and home buyers of debt-ridden Jaypee Infratech has approved evaluation criteria to be adopted to select a bidder for taking over the bankruptcy-bound realty firm. State-owned NBCC, Kotak Investment, Singapore-based Cube Highways and Suraksha group have been shortlisted as bidders for debt-laden Jaypee Infratech.

Adani Enterprises: Adani Enterprises Ltd on Thursday said it has incorporated a new subsidiary, Prayagraj Water Pvt Ltd. The subsidiary was formed on December 26 with an authorised and paid-up share capital of Rs 1 lakh and is yet to commence its operations, the company said in a BSE filing.

Interglobe Aviation: Private airline Indigo is the "worst performing" carrier for consumers, while national carrier Air India has the best luggage policy, said parliamentary panel on civil aviation chairman Derek O' Brien. TMC MP O'Brien, who heads the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Tourism, Culture, Road, Shipping and Aviation, on Thursday said the panel had taken strong note that during festive season some airlines were charging 8-10 times more than the normal fares.

HCC: Infrastructure developer Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) on Thursday raised Rs 497.6 crore through a rights issue. The issue was oversubscribed with HCC getting applications worth Rs 551.38 crore for sale through which it would issue up to 49.75 crore equity shares, the company said in a statement.

IOC, ONGC, NTPC: The three companies emerged as the top three most profitable PSUs in 2017-18, according to a survey tabled in Parliament on Thursday. The three star performers, including Indian Oil Corporation, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and NTPC, contributed 13.37 per cent, 12.49 per cent and 6.48 per cent, respectively to the total profit earned by CPSEs during 2017-18, the survey revealed.

United Bank of India: The government will invest Rs 2,159 crore in the equity capital of the bank by preferential allotment.

Kansai Nerolac Paints: The company entered into a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) to acquire 100 percent equity stake in Perma Construction Aids Pvt. Ltd for Rs 29.10 crore.
