08:20 AM EDT, 08/07/2024 (MT Newswires) -- US equity futures were higher pre-bell Wednesday as traders digested a fresh batch of corporate earnings.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures rose 0.8%, S&P 500 futures increased 1%, and Nasdaq futures were up 1.3%.
Shopify ( SHOP ) reported Q2 adjusted earnings and revenue that topped analysts estimates. Shares in the company were up 18% pre-bell.
Oil prices were higher, with front-month global benchmarks North Sea Brent crude up 2.2% at $78.15 per barrel and US West Texas Intermediate crude up 2.4% at $74.96 per barrel.
Consumer credit, slated for 3 pm ET, is expected to increase $9.8 billion in June after May's $11.35 billion rise, according to estimates compiled by Bloomberg.
