Traders Search for Fresh Cues Ahead of Holiday Break, Driving Muted Premarket Action for US Equity Futures

08:07 AM EDT, 06/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- US equity futures were little changed Monday as traders searched for fresh cues at the start of a holiday-shortened week.

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures slipped 0.2%, S&P 500 futures flatlined, while Nasdaq futures gained 0.2%.

US markets will be closed Wednesday for the Juneteenth holiday.

Oil prices were higher, with front-month global benchmarks North Sea Brent crude up 0.4% at $82.94 per barrel and US West Texas Intermediate crude up 0.4% at $78.38 per barrel.

The Empire State Manufacturing Index, scheduled for release at 8:30 am ET, is expected at minus 12.5 in June compared with May's minus 15.6, according to estimates compiled by Bloomberg.
