06:05 PM EDT, 07/31/2026 (MT Newswires) -- President Donald Trump said the US "has not agreed" to grant Ukraine licenses to produce Patriot missile systems, appearing to walk back an earlier commitment, CNBC reported Friday.

Trump said the technology is "a hard thing to give away," adding that a country receiving it could "someday turn on you," the report said, adding that Trump said the US and Ukraine are still "talking about it."

The comments came three days after Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who described the discussion on Patriot licenses as a "good meeting," according to the report.
