07:00 PM EDT, 07/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- President Donald Trump said Wednesday the US will retaliate against Iran after an overnight missile attack on US forces in the Middle East, CNBC reported Wednesday.

Iran launched multiple ballistic missiles at US forces late Tuesday, but all were intercepted, CNBC reported, citing US Central Command.

US and Saudi forces later struck multiple logistics and weapons sites in eastern Iraq in response to more than 30 drone attacks by Iran-aligned groups, CNBC reported.

Saudi Arabia said it does not seek escalation, while the Iran-backed Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces said 20 members were killed in the strikes, the report said.
