Crude oil imports also increased 65,000 b/d to 6.3 million b/d while crude oil exports gained 169,000 b/d to 4.1 million b/d, according to the agency.
Gasoline stocks fell 1 million barrels to 216.6 million barrels. Distillate stockpiles also decreased 1.7 million barrels to 123 million barrels, the EIA said.
