05:42 AM EDT, 09/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- U.S. crude oil inventories dropped 9.2 million barrels to 415.4 million barrels in the week ended Sept. 12, the U.S. Energy Information Administration said in its This Week in Petroleum report released Wednesday.
Meanwhile, crude oil production increased 25,000 barrels per day to 13.46 million b/d, the EIA reported.
Crude oil imports fell 201,000 b/d to 6.24 million b/d as crude oil exports jumped 226,000 b/d to 3.93 million b/d, according to the agency. Net imports dropped to a record low and exports jumped to a near two-year high, Reuters said in a Thursday report.
Gasoline stockpiles declined 2.4 million barrels to 217.6 million barrels, while distillate stocks rose 4.1 million barrels to 124.7 million barrels. The distillate stock build went against market expectations of a gain of 1 million barrels, according to a Reuters survey.
