12:24 PM EDT, 06/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- US stocks edged higher, with energy and communication services leading the gainers in Tuesday's midday trading, as investors awaited details of trade negotiations with China.
The Nasdaq Composite rose 0.2% to 19,636.1, the S&P 500 climbed 0.3% to 6,020.2, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.1% to 42,783.3. Industrials led the trio of decliners amid broad-based gains.
Investors are focused on the second day of trade talks in London between delegations headed by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng. Officials from both sides are trying to reach a deal to end the Sino-US tariff battle between the world's two largest economies.
US Treasury yields were mixed intraday, with the 10-year down 1.4 basis points to 4.478%.
The ICE US Dollar Index rose 0.1% to 99.08.
Gold futures fell 0.2% to $3,347.8 per ounce.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil futures jumped 1.2% to $66.05 a barrel.
