US Futures Subdued as Investors Eye Key Employment Data
Jul 2, 2025 5:39 AM

08:29 AM EDT, 07/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- US stock futures were subdued premarket Wednesday as investors eyed key employment figures this morning.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were up 0.1%, S&P 500 futures were flat, and Nasdaq futures were off 0.1%.

Oil prices were moving higher, with front-month global benchmarks Brent crude and West Texas Intermediate crude rising 1.1% and 1.2% respectively.

ADP Employment, which gauges the monthly change in private nonfarm employment, declined by 33,000 compared with expected 99,000 gain and 29,000 revised increase in May.

The Energy Information Administration's Crude Oil Inventories report is expected later this morning. The change in the number of barrels of commercial crude oil held by US firms could be an indicator of inflation direction.

In equities, shares of Earlyworks ( ELWS ) jumped more than 71% premarket, adding to a 6% gain from Tuesday. Globavend ( GVH ) rose 26%, following the previous session's 42% loss. Shares of Perfect Moment ( PMNT ) advanced 16% after a 14% loss on Tuesday.

On the losing side, shares of BioNexus Gene Lab ( BGLC ) tumbled 45% after adding nearly 256% the previous session. Shares of Centene ( CNC ) dropped 30% after the health insurer withdrew its full-year 2025 earnings outlook. RedCloud's ( RCT ) stock lost 19% after climbing 43% on Tuesday.
