Sept 9 (Reuters) - Wall Street's main indexes opened
higher on Monday following heavy losses last week, as investors
remained optimistic about soft landing prospects for the U.S.
economy ahead of a crucial inflation report later in the week.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 209.7 points,
or 0.52%, at the open to 40555.11. The S&P 500 rose 33.6
points, or 0.62%, at the open to 5442.07, while the Nasdaq
Composite rose 144.8 points, or 0.87%, to 16835.674 at
the opening bell.
