Dec 29 (Reuters) - Wall Street's main indexes opened

lower on Monday, as ‌heavyweight technology stocks ​gave up some

ground ‍from last ⁠week's ⁠gains which had pushed ‌the ​S&P 500 to

new highs.

The Dow ⁠Jones Industrial ‍Average ​fell 74.3 points, or

0.15%, at the ‍open to 48,636.63. The S&P 500 fell 26.3

points, or ​0.38%, ‍at the open to 6,903.6​, ​while the Nasdaq

Composite dropped 178.4 points, or 0.76%, to 23,414.679

at the opening ​bell.
